Why Office of the Dean for Research?

In today's world, wher e technological competition is increasingly intense, R/D (Research and Development) plays a crucial role in generating high value-added, original, and creative products and ideas that enable countries to stand out in this race. ERU (Erciyes University) is among the leading institutions capable of contributing to R/D and innovation, thanks to its strong scientific foundation, the young and dynamic potential of its students, its expert academic staff, and its robust research infrastructure. In this context, a new organizational structure has been established to elevate the most essential component of our university—the RESEARCH field—to the highest national and international standards: the Research Dean’s Office (ArDek).

ERU ArDek will be responsible for monitoring and announcing new research policies. As a unit with decision-making authority, ArDek will also provide a guidance on a wide range of academic matters beyond research. The Dean's Office will support in-school and external applied research centers, laboratories, institutes, and centers, ensuring they effectively utilize their program scope, stay aligned with current developments and strategic direction, and manage their administration and resources efficiently.
